Year-End Album List Shock Horror! HearYa Blog Names The Wind and The Swell Fifth Best Album of 2007


The widely acclaimed debut by our very own Port O'Brien was named the 5th best album of 2007 by the HearYa indie music blog.

The Underrated Blog names The Wind and The Swell the #1 album of 2007


It was a nice surprise to discover over the holiday that the wonderful Underrated Blog named our very own Port O'Brien's The Wind and The Swell as its number one album of 2007.

The band's sensational debut beat out the likes of Radiohead, The Arcade Fire, Spoon, Kate Nash, Jens Lekman, and Amy Winehouse for the coveted top slot. And it sounds like the site is eager for more music from the band very soon.

Port O'Brien to open for Nada Surf on acoustic mini tour.


Just a little heads up that Port O'Brien will be playing a few dates opening up for highly aclaimed indie stalwarts, Nada Surf. The shows will be acoustic and should be pretty fun.

Here's the dates:

In addition to those shows, the band will be playing a one off with the great Black Heart Procession on January 11th at Spaceland in Los Angeles. The show starts at 9pm. Get there early.

A full spring tour is being planned for March including a stop in Austing for SXSW. Check back for more details.
